As a resource based economy we won't be out of a recession till the Saudi's and OPEC raise oil prices which, makes me wonder where the fuck all these grandiose financial windfalls being promised will come from without raising taxes?
If this crap continues it won't matter who we elect because one of two things will happen. Either none of the promises will be kept or we'll rocket from our august position of the 11th most taxed country in the world to #1

In other words no one that matters, according to at least two of the major political parties and a (not) surprisingly large number of non-Western Canadians.
Starting to realize our elected politicians can't do muhc more than lie to us and do fairly insignificant things? The economy is pretty much out of their hands, whoever they are, whatever they do will matter, maybe like, 1%. Yet they're hyping up half of northern BC with promises of gas windfalls etc. - even though no company is gonna jump in and sink billions when gas and oil are at their lowest. Trying to encourage them by offering incentive after incentive only screws us in the long run. What to do but wait?

Not really. But I did fully support the 2008 bailout from both the Canadian and US governments that saved the sector. Which I've said here repeatedly before and which you choose to ignore.
