YEs, very sophisticated. Show ID, get money. Mastermind kinda stuff!
They also don't do IP authentication which is nice to use but scary. I'd hope that a computer with an IP address from outside of Canada that has never logged into my online banking would require another step of authorization but it doesn't with TD.
