Credit to Ezra Levant, as much of an obnoxious blowhard he is most of the time, for getting on the City's and Calgary PD's case about this. If he hadn't caused such a noise about it charges might not have happened at all.

Our wonderful Mayor is a notorious squish when it comes to do with political protest in Calgary. In 2010 he let those idiots from Occupy camp out in front of City Hall, and basically turn our Olympic Plaza into an open-air toilet, for a couple of months because he didn't want to be too "confrontational" and all by using the police to evict them. He probably would have been happy if the Palestinian thugs that started attacking people never got charged at all. Too bad for him that Levant didn't let him get away with it.

Bet the residents of Marseilles, Brussels, Birmingham and Malm(to name but a few European cities) wish they'd a bit more aggressive with their cancers a decade or two ago. Probably lots of liberals there said, 'That would never happen here, in our tolerant democracy' Lessons unlearned.
