The victim was only 10 years old. And there was more: The authorities said her family members openly planned to carry out an honor killing in the case against the young girl. The mullah offered to marry his victim instead.

A 10 year old girl gets raped by a Mullah. The family wants to kill the girl in a honour killing. The Mullah offers to marry the rape victim as an act of mercy.

Is there anything more sick than this?

The only honor killing that might be appropriate is for the family to arrange for the Mullah to pass beyond the shadow not the daughter.

My question would be does he still get the 72 virgins?
