Angela Merkel lays a wreath at the former Nazi concentration camp of Dachau near Munich, the first German chancellor to do so.

    It would be nice if the Japanese would do the same things.

    Me too. Although they're obviously and understandably uncomfortable about it, I've found that the German's don't shy away too much from their ugly past.

    Yes, it would be. At least the Germans acknowledge that something happened.
