They have formed Eagle Spirit Energy Holdings Ltd., a company quietly working to create a first nations-owned energy corridor across northern B.C. that could serve as a physical line across the province to move natural gas, electricity and oil.

Stewards of the land my ass. Which company will be thrilled with the idea of a pipeline that can be blockaded at will by any one these bands for political and monetary gains?

My knowledge of pipelines may be lacking, but once it is built I figure you can't exactly stop the flow of oil and/or natural gas with half a dozen people waving signs.

    Once it's in, it's in.

Not hypocritical at all, unless you think all FN's are of one mind. These are business people who see an opportunity. Can't blame them for that, and it's actually the same stance as Crispe Clark has - what's in it for us.

As the report says, they won't have an easy time negotiating with all the FN's that lie along the way. And, I think the biggest opposition from 2ndN's is the marine part anyway. Be funny to see the 2ndN greenies protesting the project while the bought off FN's protest for it and call the greenies racists.
