French unemployment has topped three million for first time since June 1999, as the economy continues to struggle.

    Well, I'll be the first to say it. They admitted far too many immigrants over the last decade. Sound familiar?

    They have over 65 million people in that country. More than twice as much as Canada.
    3 million of them are unemployed. 1.4 million Canadians are unemployed. I don't really see the shock of the numbers here.
    I guess the magical "3 million" line was crossed.

    Shows the absolute failure of socialism if they have an unemployment rate of almost 5%. We're so much better off having a rightwing govt in place to protect us from that sort of madness, because we have an unemployment rate of of only 7.3%... Oh, wait...

    The current unemployment rate in France is in excess of 10% of the labor force and that total does not include college graduates and other young people who have never had a job. Factoring in those people you get to an unemployment rate of close to 18%. Among muslims age 18-26 the unemployment rate is 54% as of last month.
