In the ME and North Africa when a dog shits in the street it drys up and blows away PDQ. In this part of the world that dog shit is kept moist for the next five years and only gets riper...now add to that fried cho dofu(stinky tofu), which smells like ripe dog shit. These stands are everywhere. India is bad too, but it's a different stench...human waste and burning garbage.
Pffft this is nothing. Try Lagos, open sewers FTW. That's 16m people + open sewers. At least they have garbage collection, Delhi is a world of its own.
Farm smell is normal this time of the year in Toronto.
They used to have open sewers here too. That's mostly changed now where storm drains and sewers are separate in most parts of the city. However there are still a few older places where you walk by a vendor and wonderful smells hang in the air , but when you step past a sewer grate, 1 yd away, your olfactory system is assailed by the smell of fermenting shit. That really fucks up your stomach. there is also the local penchant for throwing used asswipe into a can rather than flushing it. Some public bathrooms are actually hazardous to ones health.

I had such a romaticized image of Asian (pacific) cities. We're not talking about Singapore here are we?
I knew this years ago...
I didn't smell anything and I live in the GTA.
To me, all cities literally stink.
Toronto was bad, but Winnipeg was worse.
You don't know stink until you've been to an asian city.
Yep, my lasting memories of Hong Kong. Great place but the smell is baaaaad!
