VANCOUVER -- If General Motors Place served as the neutral venue for the rest of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Chicago officials could start planning for a Stanley Cup parade down Michigan Avenue right now. It doesn't, but the Blackhawks will happily leave Va
The thing is what can the Canucks do to improve their situation? They already have the scoring champ and one of the best goalies in the league. There's no more wiggle room. If they can't win it all with the team they've got then maybe they never can win it.

Good question. I know this. When the Chicago series started they were telling us Dustin Byfuglien was a fourth line player. They come to Vancouver and he's a superstar. Somebody's responsible for that, and I don't think it's Dustin. So who let it happen, and why can't we get out of the second round?
There's lot's of talk about that in Vancouver from sports talk radio to bar chat. What do you do to turn the regular season showboats into a playoff team?
Some say take Roberto's C. That doesn't seem like much of a fix. A lot would like to lose Vigneault, but isn't he contracted for 3 years in a way that can't be done, or something. Supposedly they were getting their ineffectual scouting and drafting situation in order, but the Moose still aren't doing any better than the parent team.
Fix the defence? Sure, but you need trade bait.
They say Demitra's contract is up soon, and he's gone. Who should join him? Who's not playoff material? Here's the roster...
Easy to be a superstar when you're Dustin's size and the only defenseman who can move you is out (Willy Mitchell) with a concussion. And your team never did find a big obnoxious forward to replace Bertuzzi.
Or you rely for decades on the goalie to save your ass while Swede forwards put on passing the puck shows for hours and never shoot at the goddam net.
I guess now all the Canuck fans can stop spouting off about how Luongo is the best Goaltender in Hockey. The truth is that he may not even be the best Goalie on the Canucks anymore.
He's burnt out plain and simple. It was evident by his play all year and people who said he was gonna win the Stanley Cup were deluding themselves.
This team isn't going anwhere but down. They've got an over the hill goaltender who makes to much money and their stars are two Swedes who fold like cheap tents when the playoff hitting starts.
On another note, this sucks. I was hoping for a Vancouver/Montreal final...

Go figure.
