An Islamic group is urging Muslim travellers to choose to be patted down by airport security rather than go through airport body scanners, a practice that it says violate religious and privacy rights.

Wait a minute here, we institute these security methods that are invasive to everybody, the purpose is to screen for potential terror threats to flights, the main purpetrators of said acts are muslim terrorists and then I find out they have an option weather or not to have a scan done on them based on their religion. What a load of shit, waste of time money and a false sence of security. Way to go.

Those having a beard and an islamic name should be automatically searched IMO.

I'm sorry, but I'm not seeing a downside here. We put in these screening methods because of Muslims hiding bombs in their underpants and now the Muslims won't fly because they won't be able to hide bombs in their clothes anymore?

If screening keeps all the Muslims off of our airplanes then our airplanes will be waaaaaaay safer. I'm thinking this was an outstanding solution.

    Agreed !

Muslims should actually have a kind of permit to get into a "fly list". Without it, no fly ! It would be much easier than screening everybody and that would also help keeping them out of our countries.

If there is any group that needs to be searched it is the bearded nuts with the moslem names. THEY are the ones causing this upgrade in screenings; otherwise the next time some Islamic terrorist caries a bomb in his underwear may do more than just burn his balls off on an airplane.

Hey Omar get in the scanner !!!!!

There, fixed that for ya. ;)

They'll take the pat down option, cause the next set of bombs

will be internal, and wont be picked up by a pat-down.

If I'm in a line to board an aircraft and I see Mustafa and Yusef, or something in a tarp, refusing to get a scan or pat down, I'm booking a different flight. Halal only flights are the way to keep everyone happy and safe.

No the story states they have an option to be patted down and scanned only if something turns up in the patdown.

We can give them a choice. Body scans or sniffer dogs. You pick but in our airports its our rules no exceptions. Don't like it? Feel free to return on the same plane you came on.

That being said its not just muslims concerned about body scans. People are concerned about child porn ramifications. Celebrities are rightfully concerned about their images being kept and put into the general public. Other people who view modesty as important also have reasonable concerns.

Oh I know, I'm one against body scanners myself, just seems stupid to me that there is even an option.

I'm going to make it a point to get a prosthetic penis like Mark Walberg used in Boogie Nights just to see what kind of a reaction I get going through the scanner!

Nor will a body scanner reveal internal bombs (or drugs for that matter), so we're right back where we started. Have to X-ray travelers I guess.
