Giant squid invade California waters

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (AP) � Giant squid weighing up to 60 pounds have invaded the California waters off Newport Beach and are being caught by sport fishermen by the hundreds.

    Saw a program about this on Discovery or Nat Geo. They say that these squids are incredibly social and aggressive, and have been known to attack divers.

    Mmmmmmmm.......calamari... It was the Discovery channel, off Mexico if memory serves

    I hate calamari, but the rest of my family likes it. My wife told my sons that it was fried chicken at first to get them to eat it. I use squid for bait to catch fish.

    A little oversize for calamari. You'd need a bathtub of tsatziki to dip rings that big.....
