An investigation has been launched into one of B.C.'s latest swine flu deaths as the family of the asthmatic victim alleges negligence on the part of Richmond Hospital.

    It's hard to say, if the mom did not communicate her symptoms well enough to the medical staff they could have easily misdiagnosed her.

    Time to profit off their mom's death.
    Sounds like she was hospitalized for what they were told (probably by the deceased) was an asthma attack.

    Well to be fair, she had a history of asthma, and had required trips to the hospital for it previously, I can understand why they treated her for asthma and sent her home after. After her second trip the following day, she had a fever with it. I have asthma, although thankfully it's not chronic, and there were times I was sweating bullets during an attack and wasn't sick from anything else.
    However, I'm not saying that's an excuse for not checking her out further after 2 trips to the ER in 2 days. That's not usual even for asthmatics.
