I find it another example of the "gotcha" school of journalism, that the press was hounding Hatper for having no exit strategy and now that one was hammered out by vote in parliament, the same press is mad because we're leaving.
If politicians want us to stay, I want to see them stand up during wuestion period and make an inpassioned plea for that. What's the coalitions stance on this? I can't imagine Jihad Jack is for it.

With iggy at the helm of the Liberal party i wonder if Harper thinks he can push for a longer extension. I think Iggy would go for it.

Iggy might but I doubt there's a Liberal in the house who would stand with him. From what I see, all the Libs that voted for the extension are gone or on their way out. I think the Libs forgot the reason why they put us there in the first place.

Even so, you'd only need a dozen or so Liberals to vote with the conservative bloc to extend the mission.

I fear party loyalty will win out.

I'm wondering if it's the "Randy Marsh" factor that has Canadians demanding we stay in Afghanistan or if it's just the typical "we're against whatever the government likes" opposition.

I think that now we are over the 100 KIA mark people realise that if we quit now, while the job isn't done, that their deaths will be in vain.

That, and Obama leaving Iraq and putting more troops in Afghanistan may be giving people the idea that this war is now winnable.

No, I think Canada needs to pull back. Afghanistan is really putting a strain on the military, we just dont have the numbers to keep up with the deployment we have.

    Very articulate Streaker.

Oh, by all means, please elaborate.

Explain your comparison between Stephen Harper and a Nazi sympathizing Norwegian collaborator.

While your at it, explain for us how Harper is beholden to his "Yank Masters."

Really? Do you think he loves high rates of street crime in inner cities?

Do you think he likes San Fernando Valley Porno?

Do you think he's a big fan of Al Franken? What about left-wing MSNBC commentator Rachael Maddow? Do you think he "loves" her?

    All those things are American.
