I thought the Globe article was funny:
Senator Mike Duffy admits error, will pay back housing allowance
$1: He said although he believes he owes nothing, he is reimbursing Ottawa because the controversy has become a distraction from his work as a senator.
Rather than let this issue drag on, my wife and I have decided that the allowance associated with my house in Ottawa will be repaid, the 66-year-old senator said in a statement on Friday.
That doesn't sound like "admits error" at all, that sounds more like "don't bother me, I'm having crumpets with the GG at noon".

I'm going to guess that Duffy is a Conservative and predict that OTI will be here soon to defend him.

How do you think he got to be a senator? Maybe this is a clever Harper scheme. We know he used to be anti-senate. Appoint people like Duffy, Wallin and Brazeau and watch people clamor for senate abolition.

We'll just blame him for promising to never appoint senators who haven't been elected, a promise he could not keep.

Let's leave the Senate empty and have you cry about incompetence because there's nobody in the senate to finish the business of the House.

Whatever his plan was when he made that promise didn't work out I guess. Like the F-35 thing, giving farmers a vote on the CWB, there not being a recession if he was elected, the tough-on-crime bills that they've suddenly realised we can't afford, etc..
Bad management.

Bad management. Canada's doing fairly well despite a whole host of broken promises. I guess when you only look for the bad, you fail to see the good. Your partisanship is showing as you're not really complaining about any systematic problems, just small partisan gripes that hold little water as you don't expect the same accountability from people on your side of the political spectrum.

When Mike Duffy says he's just gonna sit around the house, he means it literally.

Stupidity aside. Mike Duffy should be looking for employement after this gaffe, if it was a gaffe. But to be fair, he's not the first or the last Senator to fuck us over and at least he showed up in the Senate unlike that Liberal Senator who got caught living in Mexico and still managed to draw his salary. His punishment. The loss of his Senate Office and his Secratary, neither of which was located in Mexico where he was. So when Duffy pays back his housing allowance, maybe he should be punished equally. Once again this is a reason we don't need this anachronistic star chamber filled with partisan hacks and blatent fucking theives.

When Mike Duffy goes camping, the bears hide their food from him.
