I think my point is being missed...

Zero tolerance is a bad idea. If you're talking an amount that wouldn't affect somebody's driving, why outlaw it?

Lower the minimum, that's fine with me. Zero is giving the police too much power.

We're talking about blood alcohol level and impairment. Even a cop having a bad day and is out to get you for sleeping with his wife can’t make it stick after eating a rumball!

There is only the scientifically proven evidence that .08 is where the majority of people will show a measurable level of impairment. NO OTHER NUMBER.

So the only reason to use a different number is to increase revenue and make more criminals. Anyone who wants zero tolerance or .05 doesn't give a shit if you're impaired, they want you busted. Guilt, innocence and justice mean shit to them. Pandering to whiney lobby groups does.

And yes, if you're a sawed off anemic runt you might be impaired after a single drink. Normal people aren't.

Slovakia has 0.0

There arent any incidents I have read of with 'accidental' exposure.

to be fair, the machines may not be good enough to pick up
such a small amount.

Besides, the limit is going from .08 to .05, not to zero.

A good move to change people's perceptions of D and D,
but like FOG said.. it's a tax grab as well.

Drop the fines, put people in jail.

Here is Zero tollerance for you... A Drive-Thru Liquor store Texas style.

Don't get me wrong with this parody of your zero tolerance statement, I think it should be like in Calgary. Pick up a hooker in your car, you loose the car. Get cought drinking and driving, over the limit, loose your car and license.
